HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Heidelberg wrapped up a close first set en route to a 3-0 win over McDaniel in the first round of the NCAA Div. III volleyball tournament hosted by Juniata on Friday.

Three kills from Kluding keyed a 9-4 start to the first set for Heidelberg, forcing a McDaniel timeout.

A Martin kill and Taylor Bauman (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) ace closed the deficit to 9-6 out of the stoppage.

Madeline Rose (Soddy Daisy, Tenn./Baylor School) ace evened the score at 12-all. Kills from Martin and Lexi Corral (Tucson, Ariz./Gaithersburg [Md.]) gave the Green Terror its first lead 14-13 and forced a Student Princes timeout.

Heidelberg countered with six of the next seven points, however, to open up a 19-15 lead.

Corral was part of a block with Caroline Savin (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) and then knocked down a kill to close the margin to 23-22.
