Capping one of the most decorated careers in Johns Hopkins volleyball history, senior Louisa Kishton has been named a CoSIDA Academic First Team All-American, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced Wednesday afternoon. Kishton became the first Blue Jay in program history to be named an Academic All-American in 2018 when she earned third team honors as a junior.

The senior is one of seven student-athletes on this year's All-America team to be a repeat selection from last season. The first team honor is one more accolade for Kishton to add to her 2019 resume, which already includes a National Championship, a Centennial Conference Scholar Athlete of the Year honor and AVCA Second Team All-American recognition.

One of the top scholastic honors available to Division III student-athletes, the CoSIDA Academic All-American Team is voted on by sports information directors nationwide among the athletes selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Teams. Earlier this fall, Kishton became Hopkins' 16th overall All-District selection and second-ever three-time selection (Allison Cappelaere, 2007-09).

A senior graduating in the spring with a 3.97 GPA in chemical and biomolecular engineering, the Mountain View, Calif.-native ends her career as arguably the most accomplished student-athlete in Blue Jay volleyball history. She ranks top-10 in program history in digs (1,328; 6th), kills (1,121; 8th), and hitting percentage (.266; 10th), while also being the only three-time AVCA All-American in school history (2017-19). Kishton was already the program's only CoSIDA Academic All-American after last season's third team nod, and Wednesday's honor now marks the Blue Jays' only first team selection.

Johns Hopkins punctuated a magical season last month with the program's first-ever National Championship. The Blue Jays are set to return eight members from the 2019 National Championship squad as Kishton and fellow-senior Hannah Korslund mark the only departures due to graduation.
