Perfection Again For Hopkins; Blue Jays Nab 14th Straight Crown

HAVERFORD, Pa. -- Johns Hopkins posted a perfect score for the second time in conference history with the top five finishers and eight of the top 10 to claims its 14th consecutive Centennial Conference Women's Cross Country championship on Saturday at Haverford's Alumni Cross Country Course. 

Running on the same course where they compiled a perfect score back in the 2018, the Blue Jays repeated perfection once again with the top five finishers crossing the line for a team score of 15. Dickinson took second with 80 points, followed by Swarthmore (99), Ursinus (100) and Gettysburg (109) in the top five. 

JHU's Alex Ross secured the individual title with a 6k time of 21:36.80, finishing just under nine seconds in front of teammate Paloma Hancock (21:45.50). Ross becomes the 10th Blue Jay individual champion since 2008. Sydney Friedel (21:59.90), Sara Stephenson (22:05.30) and Katharine Priu (22:11.40) completed the perfect score for Hopkins in places third through fifth, respectively. 

Ursinus' Rachel Conhoff took sixth place at 22:25.60 to pace the Bears, while Haverford's Katherine Hirsche secured the final first-team all-conference honor with a seventh-place finish in 22:27.30. 

Also securing top-10 placings for Hopkins were Cooper Brotherton (22:40.60), Isis Diaz (22:43.60) and Viviani Li (22:45.40) in eighth through 10th place. Swarthmore's Rose Teszler (22:46.90), Ursinus' Holly Chambers (22:49.10) and Dickinson's Elizabeth Cassell (22:56.50) and Myra Naqvi (22:57.30) rounded out the top 14 that nabbed all-conference awards.
