Jenkins, Gerhart & Howes, Players of the Week, 9/11/22

Centennial Conference Football Players of the Week

September 11

Offensive Player of the Week
Jared Jenkins, So., QB, Moravian
Bethlehem, Pa. | Freedom
Jenkins made his home Moravian debut a memorable one with touchdown passes on the Greyhounds' first four drives as well as a touchdown run as the Greyhounds jumped out to a 34-7 halftime lead on the way to a 43-28 Centennial Conference win over visiting Gettysburg. Jenkins completed 18-of-24 passes for 321 yards to go with his four touchdowns that covered 21, 40, 77 and 7 yards, and he also ran for 43 yards and a score on 16 rushing attempts.

Defensive Player of the Week
Justin Gerhart, Jr., DB, Franklin & Marshall
Lititz, Pa. | Warwick
Gerhart tied a school record with three interceptions during F&M's comeback bid against No. 25 Susquehanna. Gerhart returned one of those interceptions for a touchdown and also made four tackles on the afternoon. His three interception afternoon was just one shy of the Centennial Conference record set during the 2001 season, and the most interceptions in a single game for a CC player since 2015.

Special Teams Player of the Week
Kyle Howes, So., WR, Susquehanna
Ijamsville, Md. | Urbana
Howes became the first Susquehanna player to take two kickoff returns back for touchdowns in the same game, while he also tied the school record for kickoff return yards in a game with 188. He tied his own school record for longest kickoff return in program history with a 95-yarder to start the game on the opening kick, and then added a 93-yard scoring return in the second half to put Susquehanna up 38-13 over F&M. Howes now has three kickoff returns for touchdowns in his career, and has returned three of his last seven career kickoff returns for touchdowns.
