2013 Outlook

Coming off one of the best seasons in school history, the Washington College Shorewomen will look to finally earn their spot in the Centennial Conference tournament. The Shorewomen graduated two senior captains, but return a strong junior class led by Latisha Pledger. Pledger was named the Shorwomen's Most Improved Player a year ago, averaging a double-double of 10.2 points and a conference-leading 10.8 rebounds per game. Joining Pledger in the frontcourt are senior Erin Kile, junior Erin Fitzgerald and junior Liz Warkala. In the backcourt, the Shorewomen will rely heavily on juniors Kelly Mitchell and Claire Mattox. Mattox averaged 8.7 points per game while knocking down a team-high 51 three pointers.

Cain Athletic Center is the home playing venue for Washington College's volleyball and men's and women's basketball teams as well as the location of many athletic offices, the athletic training room, the equipment room, and several lockerrooms.  Various intramural sports also take place in Cain.  An historic facility, Cain has undergone several changes in recent years, including the construction of coaches' offices overlooking the court, the expansion of the athletic training room, and the installation of new bleachers and scorers' tables.  With the proximity of the fans to the court, Cain is considered one of the toughest home venues in the Centennial Conference.
