The New York University wrestling team extended its win streak to 11 matches with wins over Muhlenberg College and Gettysburg College in Allentown, PA, on Saturday, February 2. NYU had little trouble defeating its Centennial Conference foes as the team beat Muhlenberg 46-9 and took care of Gettysburg 28-10. NYU, now 13-1 on the season, entered the day ranked #20 in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division III Poll, released on Wednesday, January 30. -John Fitzsimmons capped off a superb undefeated day with an overtime victory in the 165-pound match against Gettysburg. He was trailing the entire bout, but late in the third period was able to turn the tables on his opponent and send it to overtime. In the extra period, Fitzsimmons came out victorious and the win clinched the dual  for NYU. Janik Santana-Quintana (125), Brandon Jones (133), Gabe Gleason (157), Patrick Sheehan (184), and Sam Galassi (197) all went 2-0 on the day as well.

Gettysburg 42, Muhlenberg 12
The Gettysburg College wrestling team earned its first Centennial Conference victory of the season by defeating host Muhlenberg College 42-12 on Saturday. The Bullets also dropped a 28-10 decision to 20th-ranked New York University. Gettysburg took advantage of an out-manned Muhlenberg lineup to score its first Centennial decision of the year. The Mules forfeited four weight classes.

The Ursinus College wrestling team swept a Centennial Conference tri-match on Saturday afternoon, downing both Johns Hopkins 25-9 and Stevens Tech 32-6 to improve to 4-0 in the conference and 7-1 overall. Freshman Danny Ventura (Bedford Hills, N.Y./Fox Lane), sophomore Richard Jasinski (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge), senior Michael Williams (Bronx, N.Y./Westtown),  sophomore Danny Manganaro (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads) and sophomore Christian Psomas (Staten Island, N.Y./Monsignor Farrell) all went 2-0.

Johns Hopkins 25, Stevens 11
The Johns Hopkins wrestling team split a pair of Centennial Conference duals at Ursinus on Saturday as the Blue Jays topped Stevens, 25-11, before falling to the host Bears, 25-9. The Blue Jays' record now stands as 5-10 overall and 3-2 in the Centennial. The Blue Jays used a quick start and a strong finish to grab the win over the Ducks as they won the first three and last three bouts to secure the victory. Hopkins led 13-0 after senior Paul Marcello's 14-6 major decision victory over Ron Ranalli at 141, but the Ducks sliced the deficit to 16-11 after back-to-back wins by major from Joey Favia (165) and Zach Bass (174). Hopkins then got a 9-5 win by freshman Kyle Spangler at 184 and Evan Johnson and Joey Tilson closed the match with victories by decision to account for the final scoring. Tilson's dramatic 4-3 win over Chris Moyer came in quadruple overtime.
