Matt Capobianco, Gettysburg College
(FR, 157 - Middletown, Md.)
Matt Capobianco won his only match last week against No. 8 Messiah. Capobianco earned an 8-7 decision at 157 pounds against the Falcons to run his season record to 8-5.


 

Jaryd Flank, Muhlenberg College
(Fr, 125 - Easton, Pa.)
Flank won a loaded 125-pound bracket at Ursinus' Will Abele Invitational, emerging from a field that included three national qualifiers. It was his first career tournament title. In the final, Flank scored a dramatic pin with 16 seconds left to defeat a Washington & Jefferson opponent who won a bout at the 2013 NCAA Championships.

 

John Messinger, New York University
(FR, 165 - Putnam Valley, NY)
- Compiled a 4-0 record at the Mount St. Vincent Invitational on Saturday to earn the 165-pound championship. - Defeated his opponent from Bergen CC by fall in his first match. - Defeated his opponent from Elite wrestling by 6-1 decision in the second round. - Defeated Jake Odell from Stevens in the semis by 4-2 decision. - Topped #7 Tommy Desir from Kings Point in the finals.

 

Daniel Manganaro, Ursinus College
(Jr., 184 - Horseheads, N.Y.)
The tournament, the final tune up before the Bears begin Centennial Conference dual action, saw Daniel Manganaro win the Danny Glover Outstanding Wrestler award for the best wrestler of the invite. The junior won three bouts, two by pin and one by tech fall. He captured the 184 bracket by defeating Levi Veppert of Wilkes by win in 2:40.

 

Zac Richey, Washington and Lee
(So., 184 - Swoope, Va.)
Richey went 2-0 at 184 pounds in the Generals' tri-matches against the Merchant Marine Academy and McDaniel on Saturday. He posted a 16-1 tech fall (5:50) win over USMMA's William Fry, then notched a 6-5 win over McDaniel's Nick Cross. For the season, Richey claims a 10-8 overall record.
