Four Secure All-America Honors at NCAA Championship

Final Results

Four Centennial Conference wrestlers secured All-American status to lead performances at the NCAA Division III wrestling championships on Friday and Saturday in Roanoke, Va. McDaniel's Thomas Monn, Gettysburg's Luke Kowalski and Muhlenberg's Joey Lamparrelli and Anson Dewar grabbed top-eight placings to earn All-America status and lead the group of seven CC wrestlers that competed at nationals.

In the final team standings, Muhlenberg placed 26th with 14.5 points out of the 71 competing teams. McDaniel was 32nd with 11 points, Gettysburg placed 34th with 10.5 points and Merchant Marine tallied 0.5 points to tie for 55th.

McDaniel's Monn was the top CC individual finisher, taking sixth place in the 149-pound bracket. The freshman went 3-3 at the championship to finish the year with a 36-3 record. The 36 wins are tied for the fifth-most in single-season school history. Monn won 92.3 percent of his matches this season which is the best percentage in program history among wrestlers with at least 20 matches.

Gettysburg's Kowalski went 4-2 at the championship to finish seventh at 133 pounds.

Muhlenberg's duo of Lamparelli (125) and Dewar (174) both advanced to the consolation semifinals to become the Mules' first All-Americans since 2009. It's the first time in program history that Muhlenberg has crowned two All-Americans in the same season. Lamparelli closed out the year with a 30-7 record while Dewar was 32-3.

Merchant Marine's James Cruz (197) earned one victory before bowing out at the championship, while Ursinus' Terry Adams (125) and Muhlenberg's Brandon Bowles (157) also represented the Centennial at the national meet.
