Supriya Davis, Swarthmore

Three-time defending champion Gettysburg has a half-point advantage over Ursinus entering the final day of competition at the Centennial Conference women's swimming championship at Franklin & Marshall College.

The Bullets (457) and the Bears (456.5) battled a year ago with the Orange and Blue prevailing by the closest margin in the Conference history (7.0 points). Tonight's finals are shaping up to be even tighter.

Gettysburg sophomore Lea Candelmo defended her title in the 400 IM, touching the wall in a record-time of 4:34.04. Classmate Emily Schmitt was victorious in the 100 breaststroke with a 1:07.61 clocking.

Ursinus senior Malena Lair Ferrari picked up a pair of individual golds, winning the 200 free (1:53.01) and 100 back (57.84). It is the third time in her career that Lair Ferrari has won the 100 back (2011-12-14). She rounded out her spectacular day anchoring the Bears' 800 free relay which shattered the Conference record by nearly six seconds in 7:41.35. Chelsea Kozior, Corinne Capodanno and Bryn O'Neill rounded out the relay.

Swarthmore junior Supriya Davis became just the second three-time winner of the 100 fly in Conference history, taking the event in 57.00. She joins Gettysburg's Kelly Brennan (1997-98-99) in the elite club. Davis also swam a leg of the record-setting 200 medley relay which won with a time of 1:48.07. Erica Flor, Nikkia Miller and Kate Wiseman rounded out the quartet.

Competition concludes today with trials beginning at 10 a.m. and the finals kicking off at 6 p.m.
