AKRON, Ohio – Melissa Mullin broke the Centennial Conference (CC) and Franklin & Marshall record in the 400-yard individual medley to pace the Diplomats at day two of the Zippy Invite in women's swimming action at the University of Akron.

F&M remains in eighth place (242 points), while Akron maintains its lead with 1310, followed by Marshall (1130) and Illinois St. (1122). 

Melissa Mullin earned a spot in the A final of the 400-yard individual medley after finishing seventh with a time of 4:34.20. In the A final, she placed sixth at 4:32.57, breaking F&M's Kelly Landman's time of 4:33.65 set back in 2007. 

In the 200-yard freestyle, Bridget Dromerick advanced to the B final after a 1:55.03 mark in the preliminaries. In the B final, she earned points with a time of 1:55.94.

Michelle Wall advanced to the B final of the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:09.71 and in the B final, she earned points for F&M after touching the wall at 1:09.32.

In the 200-yard medley relay, a team of Kellen McDonald, Mullin, Jillian Albus, and Dromerick earned points for F&M with a time of 1:51.14.

The Zippy Invite concludes tomorrow, with preliminaries set for 9:00 a.m. and finals at 4:00 p.m. Races include the 1650-freestyle, 200-backstroke, 100-freestyle, 200-breaststroke, 200-butterfly, and 400-freestyle relay.
