2016 Outlook

Moravian was in the hunt for a NCAA playoff spot on the final weekend of the regular season and looks for its first Centennial title this fall ... the offense averaged over 400 yards and 30 points per game and could improve on those numbers this fall ... if a young defense can slow down the opposition, the Greyhounds could be poised for great things in 2016. Preseason Prediction: 3rd.

 

 

Head Coach Jeff Pukszyn

Pukszyn (Moravian ’97) enters his sixth season with a 19-32 record … he was named head coach of the Greyhounds on July 1 after 10 years as assistant head coach … Puksyzn joined the Moravian staff full-time in 1999 … he is the 12th head coach at Moravian since 1930 and just the fourth since 1955 ... Pukszyn was named Centennial Coach of the Year in 2015.

The Greyhound offense averaged over 400 yards per game for the first time since 2004 and 30 points per game for the first time in 21 years last fall ... senior QB Mike Hayes threw for 2,217 yards and 16 TDs in 2015 ... classmate RB Chris Negron led the Conference with 1,425 rushing yards and scored 15 TDs ... WRs Jalen Snyder-Scipio, Liam Nolan and Justice Anderson combined for 111 catches, 1,364 yards and nine touchdowns ... three starters return on the line, led by senior Bradley Straight.

Aaron Brown averaged 39.0 yards on 15 punts a year ago, placing five inside the 20-yard line ... Miller averaged 6.2 yards on punt returns, while Aaron Hudson averaged 19.1 on kick returns.

 

Rocco Calvo Field

The Rocco Calvo Field was renovated in 2005. The old playing surface was replaced with a synthetic surface produce by Sportexe. Sportexe Momentum™ is designed to be dense, firm, fast -- a superior surface to handle the demands of top level athletics.  There were also renovations to the structure of the grandstand with new seating added on both the home and visitor sides of the field.
